Belts help deliver power from one engine component to another or help drive mechanical parts of the vehicle. At Island Honda, we are able to service both types of belts you will see in cars: timing belts and accessory drive belts.
Timing belts help keep the different parts of the motor and drive shaft in sync, ensuring an efficient and smooth running engine. When a timing belt breaks, it will keep the vehicle from running at all. Accessory belts help power things like the AC system or keep the battery charged. While the vehicle can sometimes run with these belts damaged, it is not recommended.
