good overall car with plenty of power
by jay on Wednesday, April 25, 2018
Ive owned the 2004 mpv for fourteen years. The engine and transmission have never given me problems these are very reliable and has good power. However, Ive had problems with many of the sensors and coil packs. coil packs have consistently gone out at about 50,000 miles and many sensors went bad ex. coolant, oxygen, iac valve, etc.If you have some mechanical ability these should not be too much of a problem. - 5.0

2006 MPV drives like a nice sedan, go Mazda -- beyond new brakes at 60K, fluids changed out -- new tires, General Altimax RT 43's , fantastic -- load space with seats out, unbelievable capacity -- 23 mpg with 3Liter, ok power for step hills -- beyond oil chg., battery, tire rotation- maintenance Free -- find one used with low mileage like mine = Buy it 4 sure!! - 3.0
Mid sized mini-van - MPV
by Jack D on Tuesday, November 01, 2011
Having owned this vehicle since new, the experience of owning this vehicle is mixed. The front suspension has been suspect since owning it, the transmission does not slide into the next gear without some form of thump, and the engine electronics (ignition packs, sensors) have been absolutley horrible and expensive to replace. The engine is down right peppy, and it handles very well. Traction control is excellent. the interior is what you would expect for a family mover, but overall has held up well for 8 years. Airbags are strategically placed and the van's appearance is still appealing. Would I get another one? Not really. The van performed adequately, but at the higher side of mileage, maintenance costs that requires a dealer to perform is a major cause for concern.
