Earlier this month, Honda unveiled a new Civic hatchback prototype at the Geneva Motor Show. This is big news for the U.S. market which hasn't seen a new Civic hatchback in over a decade. Recently, the automaker issued a press release announced that the new prototype will make its North American Debut towards the end of the month, just before the New York International Auto Show.

The new prototype features an aggressively styled exterior, and sits about 1.2 inches shorter than the coupe model currently available in the U.S. The hatch's sleek lines are accented by jutting tail light enclosures and front fascia elements, and stylish troughs on the sides and on the hood. In the front, large intakes and LED headlights give the car a pugnacious aesthetic that is sure to turn heads.

Powertrain details have yet to be revealed, but we do know the new hatchback will find its motivation in a Honda's Turbo engine technology.

We wish we knew more about this awesome addition to Honda's high-quality lineup, but we'll just have to wait patiently for the reveal. Honda will publish additional details of the new hatchback prototype to its YouTube channel on March 22 at 2:20 P.M. EST.
